Default Changing to 4g wire with lift?

I have read several posts about the advantages of upgrading wires to 4 gauge. Is this worth the cost? What can I expect to see as far as improvements? I am getting 14.5 mph with two full grown men (250lbs each) Also I have brand new batteries and replaced any of the old/worn cables with new 6 gauge. My cart is an 87 CC. By the way I just lifted my cart and added 22" tires.

you probably won't pick up much speed but you will see an increase in torque. as well as lower temps in the wiring and motor

welding shops. i think i paid 1.36 a ft for #2 and about 1.25 each for good copper lugs. you want to use good welding cable 350 strand or better. it will be more flexible and carry more amperage. remember, you have to replace every wire that feeds 36v or your wasting your time. any #6 left in the system will work as a choke point.

like pansser said #2 is good but #4 is all most carts need. Unless you are running high amps or LONG runs...... welding cable with a high strand count and oil/acid resistant jacket. Solder the copper lug ends, liquid rubber the jacket to lug connection and spray protector on the battery terminals........ and you will be good to go.....

That's much cheaper than I thought. Would you recomment 4g or 2g?
