36 to 48 volt kit??????
I've got an '89 club car 36 volt resistercart I would like to convert to 48volt. My question is does anyone make a complete kit (less batts) to do this??? Cart is stock height now, but would like to lift enough to clear 22 in. tires. I mainly use this for deer/turkey hunting, no extreme offroading, just usual hills and bumps on logging roads. Looking 4 more torque and longer run time. Thanks for the.

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
Never seen a kit and probably won't since there are soo many different ways to go with this !
If it were out there it would be $$ x,xxx..xx , controller, PB, solinoids, Cablec, Charger F/R sw ...etc. |

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
A kit is not rocket science, just a compilation of parts like controller, solenoid, cables and FNR switch. I have seen kits on another site but I'm sure any of the sponsors here can hook you up with just what you need. Link: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/site-sponsors.php

That's a pretty big word for our readers Since you mention longer run time I suggest you reach 48v by adding two 6v somewhere .... If you really want a "kit", pm me. |

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
I'm not in a big hurry to do this conversion, just weighting my options. Moneys tight right now, was just wondering if it would be cheaper to buy in a kit (if 1 exists). If no kit is availible what parts would be the best for a tight budget????? THANKS

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
This is really not a budget project.... the parts alone are over $1000
I guess you could start by trying to find as much of it cheap and used as possible? 48v Charger 48v solenoid PB-6 Potentiometer 48v Controller Stuff like that ..... |

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
Crawl first , start with the stuff which you can do now and will work regardless of 36 or 48 volt. Upgrade all #6 cables to at least #4 , if you are shooting for a big controller and a torque motor rebuild then go with #2 cables, The more the strand count the easier it will be to work with.
From what I've read the 36 Volt Motors running at 48 volts work GREAT ! You can find the heavy gage welding cables at a lot of supply stores, Some of the site sponsors sell cable kits already color coded buy the one for 48 Volt cart. |

Re: 36 to 48 volt kit??????
I'm sure I'll end up buying everything 1 piece at a time, as the $$ allows. Now 4 the ????'s. What would be the best controller (brand&), pb-6, solenoid, &fnr switch? I don't want anything extremly complicated, just a basic set up. Sorry 4 so many ??'s but I know yall got the answers.
