Default battery hold downs

got my new batteries put in today and a couple of my battery hold downs are broken. do i have to have them? any horror stories from not having them?

Correct,you should have them in place,they keep space between batteries so they cool off quicker and also to hold them in place when you go over rough places.I have seen them bounce out and hit the ground,that is not good.

Movement can break plates from each other ruining a battery. Can be made from threaded rod, or can make from plain rod if you have a die to cut threads. 1/4 inch rod needed for 1/4 inch die. Heat areea so you don't break it cool in oiled sand to temper.

If you don't want to make your own they are very cheap at any CC dealer. All new for under 10 bucks.
