Cool 1984 club car sparks

hi i am helping a friend fix up a 36 volt 5 solenoids cart, at first we had rear end issues but that fixed installed a 6 in lift, and a new f & r, all new cables, and wires, he installed 2 8volt batteries in the place of 2 6volt,now in forward the car runs fine, but when you put it in reverse the f & r sparks like crazy,i can unhook #1 battery and #6 battery, unhook the ign. switch wires, put the car in reverse and touch the #6 battery and it starts to spark, the #1 battery is still not hook up, just by touching the #6 batt. it sparks in reverse but not in forward any help on this would be appreciated i would like to find a motor wiring diagram it has a1,a2,f1,f2 ,and also would like to find a f & r wiring diagram for same car, thanks ahead for any help on this

It's a 36v cart right? why are you using 8v batteries?

Yeah. Not sure what that would do, but I'm guessing not a good idea since the solenoids etc are made to handle 36v.

A mixed pack of 6s and 8s will not charge correctly. Also you are over volting the system. Like failures are the solenoids and F&R. Here are some diagrams to help you get it going. good luck
