Unhappy 96 club car little to no power in reverse

Hi folks I am a new member with my first post. I just purchased my first battery powered cart. I am retired and need a cart for Golf due to bad hip joints. The problem is I have very little power in reverse. The least uphill grade and the cart will not move. How can I speed up reverse and for that matter forward also. There are 6 new batteries in the cart and they are fully charged. I was told there is a new solenoid and R/F control. I bought the cart from Craigs list and the person will not return my calls. Looks like i have been had. I will have to make the best of it and try to repair the cart. I am a little mechanically inclined just do not get to technical I do have blonde moments (due to age of course) I hope I have provided enough info. Thanks for your help in advance.

36 volt and the batteries are supposed to be brand new. They do look new and the cables are also new. I tested the batteries with one of thos testers that you draw fluid out of each cell. all cells read full charge.

I checked the wiring diagram from ziggy for a 6 battery 36 volt and the cart is wired the same as ziggys.

Can you get a digital voltmeter to confirm that you have between 36 and 38 volts ... ? That would be the first hing a tech would need to know. Sounds like the power feeds for the F&R are wrong maybe not running on all the batteries?

I have 38.1 volts. You might have something there about not running on all the batteries. how should it be wired.

Just so you know , reverse is only supposed to be 1/2 of forward !
But you are saying , it is a lot less than this !

On the r/f I am getting 12.7 volts from the red wire bottom left
6.3 volts from the green wire bottom right
25 volts from the brown wire right side
25 volts from the blue wire centre right side
31 volts from the white wire left side
this is looking from the rear of the cart. Any help??

Do you have the wiring diagram for the cart ( from the stickies)? Here is the F&R for early CC. See the bottom? You can loop the green cable from one bottom terminal to the other to get full power reverse. Just for starters...... then check that diagram .....
