The pics below are

1. Original axle tube

2. New axle tube

Is there a way of getting the new ones to fit into the differential port?

Perhaps by shim washers and grey RTV gasket maker

The new ones will not but upto the diff box because of the larger dia seal on the end, however when torqued up there is only about a business card thickness in gap.

You can grind off the ridge. But the over all length still has to remain the same...

Thanx GarageBuilt

Problem is the new drivers side axle tube measures 10 1/8 outside flange to outside flange.
The New tube measures 10 5/8 same, which means 1/2 inch difference therefore the axle shaft would sit 1/2 less into the diff box, would that matter?

Hey Gorhad, could you see how far the spline portion of the axle goes into the diff? 1/2" may not matter if the splines still have a good bite?

I think I would get the right housing because it will probably wear your axle out faster. Its better to be safe than sorry.
