Just noticed something else
I recently purchased a 48v 96 CC. I just noticed it has a 3 H/P GE 36 volt motor. What do I need to do to get the most out of this setup? Upgrade wires from 6 to 4 guage. What else? I don`t know what controller it has. I noticed it was quite quick. Will do 20mph "gps" on a slight downhill. 16mph on flat road.
The motor says it is 3000RPM @36v What would that translate to @48v ? CartTrader |

Re: Just noticed something else
4ga wires will help with torque and the speed should be about the same.
My math says your cart should do 17mph with 18" tires, 12.44:1 rear end and 3000 rpm/36v motor on 48v. 3000rpm at 36v translates to 4000rpm at 48v. What exactly do you want this cart to do? Go fast or climb hills? |

Re: Just noticed something else
IF it is indeed a 36v motor on 48v then it should do both So, it climbs hills and goes close to 20mph .... what more do you need from a golf cart

This is the cart I first posted about that has the grumbling noise in the rear end. Under power and coasting there is no noise at all. But when the motor is running at about the middle and not going any faster or slower is when the grumbling starts. Motor not fitting right? Snubber not there? Or rear starting to go? I`m at a vacation house and very limited on tools with no jack handy so pulling motor off at this time isn't going to happen. And there isn`t an inspection plate on the back of the body under the basket. Motor clean as a pin. Rear has an oil coating on it. Don't know if I can get this large old body under it to check the differential oil without a jack. CartTrader |

Re: Just noticed something else
Sounds like a regen motor as my CC 04 IQ motor does that. It slows me down to 19mph when going down hill, and I'm getting 20mph on the flats.
