Re: 36v motor in 48v cart
SO you have a 48 volt series Club Car and you took the 48v motor out and put in a used 36v CC series motor and got the 30% gains we talk about?

Noooo.... I bought a new 36v motor Luckily for me the guy I bought it from was aware of this "series" thing I took the body, roof, tires, seats, and other items off a 2005 CC and put them on the the 97 CC. And yes, the gains reported here brought a big smile to my face. I was hoping for a little and got a lot. I guess it pays to read, read, and read some more. Great forum, thanx again nod |

Re: 36v motor in 48v cart
Okay, not too much difference between a new and used golf cart motor in the first 10 yrs ..... they take over 30 yrs to begin to wear out .... but I am happy somebody finally took advantage of this little theory of mine...
Many times we have put 48v to a 36v cart to improve them. You are the first I heard of who actually took advantage of the reverse action. It has got to be the biggest improvement for the least amount of $ possible Thanks for letting us know how it worked out..... |

Theory, schmeory! Of course it works, scotty. There is absolutely no reason why it wouldn't. Trust the science, it will set you free.
Ohms. It's the LAW! |

Re: 36v motor in 48v cart
Yeh, Until this guy it was pretty much unproven, even though it was rock solid logic What a cheap thrill. Used Stock Cc motor = $100 ? Stick it in your series 48v CC and gain 30% torque and speed..... Wowser

Re: 36v motor in 48v cart
We all know that in order to get the most out of this the cables, controller, and solenoid need to be upgraded as well.....
