I was given a skid plate for a who knows what? The bolt pattern was right but the thing was a big inch too wide so .... I cut it in two and welded it up to fit... Kind of a cool idea. We tend to have some rocks sticking out of the ground here........

Late model plastic bodies fit pretty well on the older DS frames. 1/2 inch of shim washers are needed between the frame and the cowl at the front roof support bolts. And the rear needs a seat support bracket at the front of the seat bottom. Keep it simple it only needs to support 2 people. Mine looked like this. THe bottom bolts up with the body & pan at the floor. Overall measurements were 38 x 11. Holes at 10.5 inches down from the top.

Next came the dump bed frame I made months ago....I could say 'slide her in and bolt her up' but, it was more of a wrestling match with the body on and the 6 points of connection!?

Bolted up a few more loose ends and checked the batteries....49.5 = Still at 70% so I dropped her back on the ground for the first time in like 4 months and went for e test drive....NICE. Back into the garage for the dump box which has been hanging from the ceiling since Thanksgiving....I like this harbor freight electric hoist. This bed is big and heavy but, mounting it was a breeze....

Thats all 4 now.....I intend to get the roof back on, somehow....let you know how the re-upholstery and seat go too.
I have configured the 8 volt batteries a different way in each of these conversions and I think I have found the combo here for the shortest cables. Notice the posts on the side pairs are turned towards each other and in the center they are turned away.....
