new to me CC
I brought this CC home today.....I'm not 100% sure what I got. Any help is appreciated. Will a body style with headlights molded in fit? If so what years are interchangeable? What motor was in these stock , hp wise? Is this an easy candidate for 48v? I've got a charger and it has no batteries.....Thanks scottyb

Re: new to me CC
Its an 89...nice find. 2 horse motor. Lights should cut right in.
Did you get a 36 or 48 volt charger? You could buy 6 8 volt batts and go if you had a 48 volt charger. Maybe a solenoid. |

Re: new to me CC
Roady, I got a 48v Yamaha charger that I think will work with this cart as it has no plug recepticle either! Thanks for the wiring diagrams in another thread. So you're saying I could cut lights into this. Okay, But look at the big tear in the plastic on the pic. How do you fix that?

Re: new to me CC
Looks like you will either have to buy a cowl or learn body work.
You can make a plug work for that. You can change the end to fit whatever you need it to fit. Awesome find. Add 48 volts worth of battery power and go! |

Re: new to me CC
Yeah, I'm gaurdedly excited about this... Wires are kinda hanging out here and there so I will have to see what works. Dash is trashed / need help and ideas with that. It supposed to have new brakes and they did work perfect coming off the unloading hill. Fiberglass roof is a shambles. Where do I go for that? Would like a roof but, the rear brackets are 2 piece and hold the golf bags as well. I don't need no stinking golf bags. Any ideas and help with this project are appreciated! Lots of aluminum - I guess my welder's not gonna be much good.

Re: new to me CC
The roof....call a local Club Car dealer and ask them if the have any 2003 1/2 up tops with all the uprights. A late model top will make it look...well....late model.
Clean the aluminum with "Eagle One etching mag cleaner" . |

Re: new to me CC
Okay 20031/2 and later model roof. Sounds good. I need later / the original looks like....well, it took its styling from a Rambler American. The same with the front......do you know if the recesed headlight looking body will fit this?

Re: new to me CC
A MONTH HAS PAST....
I took Roady's advice and got six 8v batts, a v.HD 48v solenoid; when installed, the cart squeeked the stock tires on pavement and generally went with alot more zip. Yamaha charger was 17amp...bought 21 amp Lester 48v charger, it arrived today and 480 controller, PB-6 due any day to complete drive system. Installed today some late model trimmings = seat back, roof and supports, folding windscreen. I got late bumpers as well. All slightly used take offs. I got some stock rear new springs..I'll be cutting the ends off the old ones and stacking them with the new...front and rear. It's making a late model out of the 89, more or less. There is alot of this stuff out there cheap for anyone who wants to update an older DS. Not real Custom but, ...... |

Re: new to me CC
Welcome, Outcast. I like that handle For a lot of these guys the fun is not only in owning a cart but, modifying or fixing it back up ....my problem is I didn't get the cart bug........I got the cart flu. I ended up with so many projects that i couldn't keep up with them all....I'm just starting to catch up now. I have a "new" plastic body for this cart. I talked with my painter this week and he said he would come over and shoot it for fun, so i better get busy with the prep.....When it's done you won't be able to tell this cart from a 2003? But what about the carryall?
