Default Battery sweat

Months ago I posted a thread about my obc not shutting off my charger and batteries boiling. Well I think my batts. are not sealing well. They have the contiguous twist lock caps which I fear are the culprit. Does this sound plausible? My charger doesn't like to shut off and my batts. always have fluid/"sweat" on top of them. I've gone thru two sets of batt. tie down rods in a year. It's all starting to make sense...at least to me. Going to try individual or pop caps....(sorry don't know what they're really called).

Any input?

What brand of battery? some are known to boil the water out no matter what you do.

Also if your batteries are old and the charger doesn't shut off, it will boil the water out for obvious reasons.

You could have a couple of things going on here? First where are the batteries filled to if they are too full they will boil over. As the Fixer indicated, ... are the batteries old and shot & is that why the charger won't shut off? And third remember that the presence of sweat on the battery tops shorts and draws power from the batts so you are back to square 1?

Batts. are about a year old "Sam's Excide" 6- 8volts, charger has been tested on other cart...shuts off no puddling, no problem! Batts are filled just below fins...not my first rodeo. Distilled, well maintained....don't know.

Okay, then. Charger checks out. Batteries still could have a bad cell... if not obc is bad. Can we SG test or Load test the newer batts?

Excides are ones to boil the water out. Have seen some where the case top is not sealed correctly or has been damaged. Again in the charge process, the water expands and comes out.
