Heres what I do, Iput my knees in back of the wheel and my feet on the dash and push up after I loosen the nut and hit the center with a brass punch,it usually takes a couple of times. It takes a BFH to get the job done. If you use a brass punch you dont hurt the column so much.

i do the same with my legs but i take the nut off and the washer. i put the nut back on flush and then hit the end of the shaft with my pneumatic hammer. i have a 1" diameter flat tip for it. this has popped everyone off that i have tried on. the nut gives it a broader surface area to hit and keeps the wheel from flying off.
