Lights with 12 volt battery
I am going to run my lights etc from a 12v battery as per OLDMEC mentioned in previous threads.
Initially because i have 2 spare jet ski batteries rated at 22 Ah i am going to use one to get everything up an running. Then i will buy the one OLDMEC suggested (mobility scooter battery rated at 55Ah) So i found a site on the internet that sells automotive LED bulbs, in fact there are several, but in the meantime i went to autozone and purchased a pack of 2 for the rear tail/stop lights (look for the ref# 1157). Tried them out and they work perfectly. OK my tail light bulb is rated at 32 watts which equates to approx 2.5 amps, The LED replacement visually gives out the same brightness but draws way less than 1 amp in fact you will be pleasantly surprised as to how little current it does draw My next step was to find a place to conveniently mount the aux 12v battery. Possibly found one tonight under the drivers seat, there's an aluminum ledge at the rear of the main battery pack and my small jet ski battery fits snug there. So i am going to get some of the aluminum angle possibly 3 inch and rivet it into place to stop the battery falling backwards. Any ideas would be appreciated on the battery straps Thanx |
