Default making new cables, IQ, which to replace?

ok so an old welder i know hooked me up with like 30' of 4ga cable. i went and got some copper lugs and all the junk to solder them. i know some say crimp, some say solder, whatever, i just wanted to solder them. so far all the batteries are done, and the positive from the pack to the .. solenoid i think. so now i have the negative long wire that looks to be running into the controller. just wondering which other wires need to be done on a 05 IQ? or should i just replace any wire that looks about the size of the battery cables? i know it really doesnt matter much when it is stock, but i may lift this car soon and i would like to know that i'm getting the most out of the stock setup. thanks.

ALL the 6 gauge cables should be changed to 4 gauge. The main motor cables, all the battery cables as well as the cables going to and coming from the solenoid. Do yourself a favor and if you are not sure, take one off at a time, measure it accordingly, solder the ends and replace the new cable where the old cable went. Doing this will insure you put them back correctly. Also pay close attention to the wire going through your OBC, you’ll know which one when you see it. Remember, by asking your question above makes it seem you are a bit unsure about what to do so please take your time and do ONE at a TIME, paying attention to where they came off.

Good luck!

Scubabud is right about the wire on the OBC... It goes right through the center of it. Make sure when you replace this wire that you put it through the OBC the same way the factory wire is, don't re-route around the OBC. If not done properly, the charger won't function properly. There's a voltage sensor inside the OBC and if it doesnt sense that wire, it wont work.

Thanks for the tips. I haven't messed with them last couple days. Of course the ones I have left are the tougher ones. I've been very careful to do one at a time and pay good attention. Thanks for the tips!
