I thought you had some professional help here...... But it looks like they forgot about you? If the jerkyness is intermittent then it could be as simple as a bad power supply to the controller.....What type of meter do you have? How much dc electrical experience do you have? This is not an easy cart to diagnose .....

could somebody please explain/hypothesize why the original mcor allows the cart to work (badly) but when i put a brand new mcor on, the cart does absolutely nothing? logic tells me that w/ a new mcor, even if that is not the problem, it would at least work badly, right?

Not necessarily. If the internal micro switch does not work on the new MCOR it wont work at all. It sounds to me like you've got a bad used MCOR and a bad new MCOR

this is the 2nd new mcor i've put on though - i bought a new one a week or so ago and it didn't work, went back to exchange it for another brand new one, and this one doesn't work either. 2 bad mcors in a row? are mcor's known to be faulty?

sooo frustrating... thank you for your help tahoedawg :)

I don' think he knew you had 2 new ones? Check the power going into the mcor.

Come on scottyb U can do better .
Gonna need a lot more explanation with no Idea where, how and how-much to check, + no Meter experience , + Analog.
I have been unable to convince them to spend $25.00 and get a digital.

well, here's the update - some of the battery posts were still pretty dirty/corroded, 1 of the batteries had barely any water and (here's the kicker) one of the connectors that goes into the mcor was not pushed in all the way (though in my defense i checked that possibility 2 times and i am going to blame it on the fact that i am a girl and not strong LOL).

thank again for all your help, especially for trying to help out such a novice :)
