OK.. I'll fess up... I actually use marine grease on my motor shaft. I've had it in and out several times, testing a new motor performance motor and still use marina grease! When I helped another member here back in November and stated, (shown below,) to apply a light amount of grease, I was corrected by the statement also shown below.

ScubaBud> "Clean/wipe off the excess grease and LIGHTLY grease the spline for your new motor. There shouldn't be lots of grease but there might be signs of some slung around in the case."

"The elec. diff takes 30w motor oil until it pours back out the fill hole Antisieze compound is what should be on the splines "

Man... I can't win...

I like a beam wrench over a clicker because I can see if I am spinning the fastener and the torque is not rising.
Very nice DOOmsman

Dang why does this chart not include 19mm 12.9 allen head bolts into steel. Hated doing them in at 350ftlb. One big hydrolic cylinder, with a stafa motor.

DOOmsman - Sweet chart, thanks!

Scubabud - I will use a light coating of grease rather than Anti-Sieze. What about wheel bearing grease? I have some high temp salt water proof stuff I use on our dirt bikes....

Where did you here gear oil? I think they use gear oil in the gas carts but I believe it is 30w oil in the electric.

Wow, I stand corrected. I looked it up in a Club Car book. You were right. I've been working at a Club Car dealer for 9 years and we've always used gear oil. The Club Car service department down the street uses gear oil as well.

Yeah I'm glad I know now... However, I can honestly say that the gear oil works great.
