2004 48V DS Golf Electric Charge Problems
Ok, Over the winter my batteries went bad. I have replace all of my batteries and the cart runs great. When I connect my charger to the cart it will not charge. I am getting 48.5 volts over the battery pack. I am also getting 48.5 volts on the charger connection to include the gray wire. What am I missing? The charger worked last year.

On your charger connection attached to the cart, the female plug with three holes, should give you the voltage to your pack as well, (I believe that's what you're stating above.) Using a digital meter and facing that plug the right lower should be (+) and both the left lower and center-upper should give you a (-) to test voltage. If everything is correct as stated above then a couple more things... make sure there is 120v at the outlet where the charger is plugged into, (not trying to be funny but maybe a breaker or GFI went out since last winter.) If you've got 120v power and no wires were changed out in your cart and the main (-) lead from your pack is still the cable passing through the OBC then it might be time to either try and bypass the Charger and/or find a friend with a good charger and test on your cart or vice versa using your charger on his cart. |

ok, no wires have been replaced. I am talking about the female plug with three holes, gives me the same voltage as my pack.
I do have power on the GFI. I have tested both outlets with a flood light. How do I go about bypassing the charger. I have a PowerDrive battery charger. |

Look at where it shows to bypass the relay in the charger, (picture is a PowerDriveII.) Only do this to test it since it will no longer shut off while using the bypass. If it works you have a bad OBC since you stated no wires were changed and the gray wire should be good and intact on the plug. Also shows where to bypass the breaker and test with a 15a fuse if that was a possible problem. |

Re: 2004 48V DS Golf Electric Charge Problems
I bypassed the current 15 amp fuse with another and no luck. I have jumped the 2 wires using the 15 amp fuse in the charger. I hear the hum of the charger, but no amp meter change on the front of the charger.
Does this mean there is a problem with the charger or is it suppose to act this way when you bypass the OBC? Sorry for the delay, I had to go out of town for work last minute. |

I checked the charger plug with my volt meter and I do get 50.9 from the 3 prong connector.

Re: 2004 48V DS Golf Electric Charge Problems
That is what I am asking, when I bypass the OBC, the charger comes on, but the volt meter on the front of the charger does not change.
So, is it the OBC or is there a problem with the charger? |

When you plug the charger into the cart before you did all this bypassing did the charger make an audible CLICK ?
