Default New Batteries and cables, now issues.

OK… New to Carts… I have a 2002 Club Car (I think it is a IQ). Just put brand new Trojan batteries and upgraded all battery cables to 2gauge and the negative and power to 4gauge. Now the light on my dash is on and it will not charge.

Before you ask… Yes it is all wired correctly.

I tried the OBC reset and that did not work.

Now, I was told that my changing the negative cable from the stock 6gauge to 4gauage that I have confused the OBC (too much current)and possibly fried it.

Any ideas out there… PLEASE!!!!

I have searched and searched and have found no information on this being an issue. I also was looking into what a OBC would cost me and every one I have seen for sale looks nothing like mine.

THANKS!!

I have one idea being you changed all wires. Do you still have a wire through the OBC?

OK, Is the OBC that plastic plate or is it the computer looking box that the neg cable connects to after going through the plastic plate?

To get the 4g cable through the platic plate I had to bore it out, so please tell me that was just a plate and not the OBC....

How the hell is that plastic plate the onboard computer?? WTF?? so the neg cable paases through that and what is it connected to? I fugured that was the OBC?

So where can I get a new one at a decent price? Should I remove mine first and get a model/serial number or is it pretty standard?

***, I srewed up....

The plastic plate that you bored out is the obc I think, was it mounted on the rear of the battery compartment under the drivers side seat.

Basically it is not really an on board computer, it is an ammeter that senses the current and tells the charger to turn on or off. Check with the sponsors here for a new one they will probably be able to help you .
