Default Charger problems

I purchased new batteries today for a cart that I re-built, but have never run! The problem is, the charger will come on but does not show DC amps on the meter. I am trying to charge an 2002 IQ cart with a power drive 2 charger. From what I have been reading the charger should come on and shut off to read voltage, then come back on to charge. THIS ANT HAPPENING!!! I am scared that it will fry my batteries if I leave it on! I dont think the charger is working proberley........
THANKS!!!

Hey guys changed obc. Charger comes on same as with other obc. I left charger on for about five minutes and it kicked off. Battery pack was 50.4 % before I hooked charger up. Do you think batteries are at 100% ?

it takes at least 20 or so charge cycles to get new batteries up to 100%.just don't let them run down less than say 75% for this period of time and you should have a set of batts that will last.good luck
