Default Bad Boy Buggie problem

Hello All,

I'm new to the forum and new to electronics. I'm uncertain, however, I tink my Bad Boy Buggie is made of Club Car components. At any rate, was freshening up water in batteries, and cleaning all terminals to get ready for spring/summer as battery life after charge was horrible. After servicing, battery life was increased substancially. Took cart for one ride without a problem. Today, went to move cart and it's dead in the water. When turning the key on, it takes approx 10 seconds to hear the machine "turn on." This usually happened instantly. When using toggle switch to go forward or reverse, there is no movement. I continue to hear the machine "running" but no movement when pushing the accellerator. Can anyone help me out on a place to start? I tried my nearest BBB dealer who had no suggestions other than to bring it in......35 miles from here, and I have no chance of getting the machine to him (paralyzed from the waist down for 12 yrs) I'm no electrician but am somewhat mechanically inclined. I would appreciate any help you have with what little info I've given as a symptom.

48 volt system/ dual motors yielding about 35hp/ 4wd

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

It is battery powered so i would start there again. check each individual cell if you can with a hydrometer and then post your results or get the chart in the stickys in this forum section. how old are the batteries?

The batteries are Trojan and are 4-5 years old. After servicing them, I charged the cart and it shows a full charge on the battery meter. Approximately 3 days ago, I took the cart out without a problem, and that was after the battery servicing.

can you access the batteries so you can check individually? i am thinkin they are going out. 4-5 years is pretty close to the end of their usability. if you can access them check them individually with a volt meter and like i said in the first post try and get a hydrometer reading of all the cells. that really tells the story is what i have learned.

Please excuse my ignorance, but if the battery meter on the cart is showing a full charge, shouldn't the cart have the power to move?

ok it is not a battery problem in your opinion so then is the noise when you turn the key a click or what kind of noise is it?

after turning the key, there's about a 10 second delay at which time there is a click followed by a "humming" noise. The huming was always present when the cart was working. When I added the water to the batteries, some took a significant amout.....would this dillute the acid enough to where the batteries were innoperable? There are 8 batts.

you did not overfill them by any chance? yes they can be flooded and not work properly. and that is another reason for the hydrometer test. if they are dilluted it will show as a weakcell
