Default Charging problem on 88 club car ds

Hello, I recently had a 88 club car ds given to me and im having trouble getting it to charge. The charger will only run about 30min then shut off when i try charging it. I checked the voltage in all the batteries and there all right around 6.2volts. The car has enough charge in it to move it around but not to get up to full speed. Any help is appreciated!

What charger do you have? It sounds like a charger problem, cutting off early if your voltmeter is correct...

Its a 36v charger with the correct plug. The person I got the cart from used it for years with no problems.

This is a pretty common problem. The timer in the charger can fail and cause these exact symptoms. I can't guarantee you that this is the problem, but I can guarantee you that I see it all the time.

Is there a way to by pass the timer, then i can just let the cart charge for like 5-6hrs and see how it runs then? That way i'll know it the charger.
