Default new batteries, cart still wont go

we just bought an 05 club car precedent. It has never been driven and sat in an empty garage for 5 years. we brought it home and charged the batteries enough to where the charger kicked on. we let it charge for 8-10 hours. The lights came on and the horn worked but it wouldnt move. We finally bought 4 brand new batteries and it still wont move. We took to a golf cart shop and the hooked it up to a scanner and it was throwing armature codes. The guy seemed to think maybe the motor had dirt or dust in the brushes and it needed to be cleaned. Do any of think it could be anything else, also if we pulled it with are other golf cart could that burn whatever is in the motor out without hurting it??

It wouldnt hurt to do that.... Make sure you put the cart in the TOW position first. Personally, I'd take the motor off and take it apart and clean it out real nice with some 220 grit sandpaper.
