1985 club car runs slow
I bought a 1985 club car a few months ago. Its lifted has plastic rims on it etc, it runs pretty slow I charged it up fully, I was wondering is there any way to make this cart go faster? How much would it cost? Does anyone else have the same problem I do with this kind of cart? Also the steering is a little hard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome ---- if you have a meter and can take the volts reading on each battery, and a reading of the hole pack and post the reading there/-----and what do you mean by slow, what speed are we talking about?????

Do you have rack & Pinion sterring? They didnt start using them on Club Cars until late 1983 so some 83's have it and some dont.. If you dont have R&P your in for a world of work becasue you will need a donor cart that has all these parts.. 1. Shock tower 2. Steering colum 3. R&P 4. Steering link that comes off the R&P 5. And probably much more I'm in the process of changing mine over right now.. If I had to start over again, I would of sold this cart and bought a newer controller cart and saved money.. Here's my 83 with a newer IR body, custom 7" lift, 24x12x10 tires, kit that moved the front suspension foward 2" (needed to clear 24" tires), etc.. Before After Cuz |

You might want to give PlumQuick a call on your motor as well... they are a SPONSOR here on BGW and have an excellent reputation.
