I would think anything over 3000 would be fine.

The 2000 Honda electronic charger will work but they rate it different than most companies so I would think a 3000 or 3500 would work great. I saw a 3500 for sale at Home Depot the other day for 199, it was a champion or something like that.

Get more watts than you think you need. First of all, generators are rated at peak and you are not gonna wanna run peak WOT all the time. And secondly you always find something else you can plug in while you're charging like a coffee pot or a blender I agree Honda makes some of the best, quietest ,most expensive ones..If it's to be an occasional use machine be sure to run "stabil" in it so it will run in 6 mos when you want to use it again...

ok, the one I am taking is a 5550 watt.. This will be plenty right.. With this I should be able to run other stuff at teh same time and still be alright ... right?

Yes. I took my 5550 to the Bonanza with me and it charged mine fine. I didn't have anything else to use with it except a radio. It shouldn't have any problem at all. Make sure you take a gas can incase you need a refill.

I use a battery operated inverter at the hunting club that runs off the truck batt and it works fine , but I have to keep the truck running while it's charging , don't remember the wattage tho .
