Speed issues with 94 club car electric
Speed issues with 94 club car electric
I just bought a 94 electric club car. It seems sluggish and has trouble going up hill. It has a bank of new battersie (36 volt). I looked closer and it looks like it is wired correctly between the batteries for 36 v but the motor on the cart says 48V on it. The charger is a 36 V charger as well. What I am trying to find a way to figure out is the speed control 36v or 48 v? do i need to get new batteries for 48v and a new charger or should i replace the motor with a 36v motor? Is the fact that the motor is setup for 48v and it is only getting 36v causing the sluggish behavior? Possibly someone changed out the motor for a 48v because the system was originally 36v? The motor does say Club Car on it so it is a factory motor (not sure if original though). is there anyway to use the serial number to find out what the car was originally? |

Re: Speed issues with 94 club car electric
So if a 48v motor was only getting up to 36v that would cause it to go slow like i'm seeing? it isn't that bad when up to full speed but doesnt seem to have much torque if two people ride it or it is on a hill. by the way it also already has new tires, wheels, etc.
Any troubleshooting i can do? Is there a way to check the speed controller to see if that is a 36 v or 48v? I do not see any writing on it and it is a solid back one. |

Re: Speed issues with 94 club car electric
You may need a small mirror to see the ID info but, it is on the controller

Re: Speed issues with 94 club car electric
Would any of you recommend any of these specific motors?
http://www.golfcarttrader.com/Electr...Club%20Car.htm GCT1395C or GCT1392C ? or from http://www.golfcartshopper.com/prodd...CT1377C&cat=67 GCT1377C I see that most of these say 36V or 48V. Can I assume technically since my current motor says 48v on it that it too could opperate at 36v and my torque issue is not really the motor even though i'm only applying 36V |
