Default Opinion on Interstate Batteries?

Where I live, there are no Trojan Dealers, no US Battery Dealers, etc for miles and miles and miles. There is an Interstate Dealer and the local cart shop pushes Interstate.

Any opinions on these?

Thanks

Interstate batteries are made by U.S. battery. I know alot of people that use them and have had zero problems. US did have a bad rep years ago until the hired a engineer from Trojan battery, then things changed. U.S battery is one of the big 3 and should be considered in your purchase options, even if it is under the interstate label.

It depends on who's making them. Interstate is changing manufacturers from US Battery to Johnson Controls (JCI). If their US Battery manufactered GREAT, if JCI their JUNK.

Just to clear the air,ez-go and clubcar dropped trojan because of quality problems and ez-go uses us battery and clubcar uses crown.US battery used to make the batteries for Interstate and now that they have ez-go Interstate has moved operations to Mexico.Crown batteries are made in Ohio which means the USA and thts your best buy.

Just bought my Intersates a few weeks ago and love them so far (still breaking them in). I was told that they are made by US Battery (even have the same numbers) but that after the couple skids they had were gone, the new Intersate batts will be from JCI (made in Mexico). JCI makes the Sams club batts as well.

I have not seen the Intersate JCI batts yet, but the Interstate US batts say "Workhorse" on the label and are white with red tops and use the US Batts "speed clip" for the fill holes.

Here is a shot of mine for reference.

I am just saying by what I have been told and read in the golf car magazines,I got a car in today that has interstate red tops 48volt and they are leaking all over the driveway as usual. They must have a better brand of batteries that dont leak. I bought 40 Course cars 5 yrs. ago with interstate batteries that were 4 months old and the acid leaking out ate all the frames out of the cars in 2 months.
