Question Club car 36-volt solenoid problem

Folks,
Just replaced all batteries on my 36V CC and brought them up to 100% charged condition. In testing the new batteries, the selenoid clicks in every time, but the motor will not always turn over. Happens in both Forward and reverse. In brief, sometimes the motor will work but not every time. Selenoid problem or motor issue? Appreciate any help.

Could be the master solenoid micro switch beginning to fail. Could be a bad F&R. Could be the master solenoid failing. Or a loose wire to any of the above components ...... hope this helps

Thanks again for the quick response.
Loose wire was the first thing that came to mind, but I hadn't even considered the F/R selector as a possibility. When I put it in F or R position the selenoid always clicks in and the drive wheels do attempt to turn (about 1/2"). If I keep punching the pedal the cart will eventually go and once moving, runs just fine with plenty of speed. I'll start at the drive selector and work my way back to the selenoid. The only problem I've got, is the lack of an electrical schematic for a 96 CC. You mentioned Master Selenoid, is the attached pic the selenoid you were speaking about?

Okay I'm confused... 36v with a solenoid mounted as you have pictured? That looks like it is behind the passenger seat? Are you sure it is not a 48v cart?

Yeah, it is a 36V and that selenoid is as you said, directly behind the passenger seat. Here's a couple of pics. that may help. Motor.jpg

They mounted the solenoid there on 36 volt cars, and chances are real good the problem is your solenoid. Simple test, jack the rear of the car up, keep stepping on the accel. pedal until the car does not run, keep your foot on the accel. pedal at that time, and tap the side solenoid with a wrench, chances are good the car will start to run. Simple test, no special tool required and no manual.

Thanks for the help FIXEROFCARTS, I tried that with out any results. While inspecting the selenoid, I just brushed micro-switch #1 and the white lead just fell off. Pic. below. Not having a schematic, would you know what this switch supplies current to? Also, see any problem with my shorting the large selenoid poles to see if that eliminates the selenoid as the problem? As a retired electrician, I'd give my "right-you-know"-what for electrical schematic for my 96 36V CC...

There is a wiring diagram for your cart in the stickies at the top of this CC section..... you need to replace that micro switch .....

Found those early on and they do help and you are right, I just ordered three new micro's to replace all of them, though that broken white lead I suspect has little to do with the original problem.

I'm beginning to understand what that old Chinese guy meant when he said, "You want to move a mountain, "Take away one stone at a time..."

I had a chance to quickly look at a 93 here with same system.... the white wire disappears in the harness but ..... there is a white wire at the controller which could be your power... IDK, you need to look at the diagram. You can eliminate the micro for testing purpose just connect the two leads that hooked to it and see if it runs?
