How much voltage can I expect ?

I have a 2002 Club Car DS (48v) with new trojan batteries. I have only charged them 8-10 times. Top voltage so far is 51.3 volts. How much more voltage should I expect when the batteries take a full charge ? I have read where some are getting 60 volts at full charge. Will this give me more run time ?

I have only gotten my 48v pack to 52.0vdc measured 1 hour after charge cycle completion.

Gorno, I am following this cause I had the same Q. Yesterday was the 1st time charging my 48v pack of quite used " barely good" on the hydrometer batteries. Yamaha charger was finishing them around 58.7v . And an hour after the charger turned off it read 52.8 = older batteries but, Ready Freddy

the charger always puts out more voltage than the batteries can hold...

think water tower.. electricity and water are very alike..

if the water tower didn't have more than you need, it also would not have enough pressure to come out your hose at a decent rate. Same principal, the charger needs to be putting out around 60vs to charge your batteries up to around 52 vs...

A club car computer will likely prevent them from getting much higher than where you are. When you finish your charge cycle is the yellow light coming on at all?

If I'm gonna race someone in the campground, it's always first thing in the morning after an overnight charge. My BIL will tow me to the start line. It's all quite funny to see.

The finishing light, Tim? Yellow was on for about an hour at the end of the cycle. I think all is good. I didn't know what optimum and minimums were.
How accurate is the horizontal LED indicator that I installed from BU? Any harm in hard wiring it? It's the smallest darn LED?

Scotty I was referring to the yellow light on a club car's dash.

I'm totally clueless on Yamaha chargers, until recently we were totally refusing to do any work on Yamaha's.

I never liked the led indicators, but they are good "reference" hard wiring it will give drain, although minimal. I saw one person that had a seperate toggle switch for his led indicator.
