48v to a 36v motor is worth the effort!

On your PDS cart you would need a 48v battery pack, 48v charger, 4g battery cables, 48v HD solenoid, and a 48v controller. It's not cheap, but it will be a completely different cart.

G. to make sure i understand this you are saying to put a 48 volt motor in a 36 volt cart you still need to do this other stuff? you can,t just swap motors and off you go?.............................

Tom, unfortunately there are two separate scenarios here. First we dealt with putting a 36v motor in a 48v cart. This is a direct swap. The cart will be faster because we are over-volting the 36v motor causing it to spin at a higher RPM.

Next we were asked about converting a 36v PDS cart to 48v, which is quite a different procedure even though the result is the same, over-volting a motor for higher RPM.

yes i understand, 2 different questions......ok say you have a C.C. 36 volt you want to ut a 48 volt motor in......i have always been lead to beleive you can,t do that.....but have also been told you can put a 48 volt motor in a 36 volt cart but you gain nothing at all and its just a waste of time......i,m just curios wether you can just drop a 48 volt motor in a 36 volt cart and leave it at that...no other mods. involved......thanks bud..............................
