Default Relay Clicking

From my experience with relays, they are only supposed to click once them be on - I just installed lights using a light kit from a vendor here - when I pull the light switch, the relay clicks 6-8 times very quickly before the lights come on. Is there anything i should check before I send off for a new relay? - Oh yeah, power comes through a converter 48/12

Or is this somehow normal?

Sounds like a weak power source going to the relay... Check your converter output. It's enough to turn it on, but once it's on it puts a load on the wire which drags the voltage down enough to make it turn off, which makes the voltage come up, which makes it turn back on... It's a chain reaction.... kind of like a starter solenoid on a car with a dead battery... click click click click click

Thanks Tahoe - 11.5V at the fuse to the relay????

And once it is on, it does not click anymore - it only clicks before the lights turn on??
