Just out of curiosity, how is possible to get the batteries up to 64 volts if their max capacity is 48 volts?

Would'nt the overcharging damage the batteries?
Yes and no...

It's not like filling up a gas tank that takes 10 gallons of fuel so you're limited to only 10 gallons to fill that tank back up. Voltage is the "push" force, not an amount. The "amount" would be the amps being pushed back into the batteries. Try doing a google search on charging and I'm sure you'll find detailed information on charging. Smart charging such as the brain built into your cart, (the OBC,) and the charger itself are designed to KNOW how much came out of your batteries and the proper way to put in a proper amount as well as to help maintain them from sulfating and proper equalization of them... (HOPEFULLY!)

Bottom line... let the charger do it for you the right way... never shut it off before it finishes it's cycle UNLESS it really does go over it's built in limit of 16 hours and always place your cart back on the charger after your carts use for the day or when you reach that 50% mark of 48.41 volts.!

Thank you for explaining. I had charger connected overnight for about 12 hours. The voltmeter read 50.7 volts which is close to 100% based on the chart. Will the fully charged reading vary at all?

Your OBC/Charger combination will know that you undercharged your batteries if you pulled the charger off too soon and will compensate for that as well. Right at the end of the charging cycle your batteries should read a bit higher then their normal maximum of 50.91 but will settle down to the 51 mark after a few hours.

I am thinking of bringing the voltmeter out with me on the course so I can get an idea of what the battery should read after a round of golf. At what number reading should I start considering bringing the cart back home? I would hate to have it die again on the course.

Please let me know. Thanks.

Trojan recommends that you recharge your batteries when they read 48.41 volts which is 50% of your pack. That's when you should bring it back. Trojan also says that you should never take it down past 20% or 46.64v.

What if I run my batteries down to about 90 percent? Should I recharge then or wait until it hits 50% percent to recharge?

Please let me know. Thanks.

Always charge your cart, even if you use it for 5 minutes, your charger will know what to do!

I need to buy 4 new tires for my 2006 Precedent. Is that something I can purchase from an online or do I need a local dealer?

Are tires for a golf cart readily available? What is the normal price per tire?

Please let me know. Thanks.

Golf cart tires are routinely purchased on the internet. Any of the site sponsors here

can help you out.
