Jack the back of the cart up and place the jackstands under the frame at the rear. Put the jack under the rear end and jack it up enough to hold it up. Take the u-bolts loose, bottom shock bolts. Then take the back shackles loose and the front bolts loose. Get the old out of the way and reinstall the new one. It helps if you have someone to help hold the rear while you slide the springs out and back in. You may want to take the motor off also before you start.
A ? for you is the axile on top of the spring or under it. If it's going to be lifted I would flip it to the bottom. Just a thought while it's off anyway.

I might add that on my 97 it was easier for me to cut the front leaf spring bolts out. It was either that or drop motor pan out as I remember, Bolts went so there was not enough room to get them out in one peice.

just my .02

I don't know about the 04 but my 89 has the spring mounts welded to the bottom of the axle.

On the CC front end - you can add a leaf if you have another stock spring, metal saw, and welder.

Increasing the carrying capacity if you add a front basket, brush guard and possibly a winch.

then yes you could double up front springs. or pop for an actual hd spring.

I have never tried but you might be able to use one of the stock rear springs if it is trimmed correctly to fit with the stocker.

personally i would just buy a hd spring. Don't forget to check withyour local dealer. I can get spirngs from mine cheaper than ordering them do to shipping costs.

I too am in need of a HD front spring. Let me know what you end up with,...I was going to try a helper spring(I have the old rear leafs) it looks like it would be an easy try. If I do it I'll let you know. The 4leafs rears are a must if you have a backseat. Everyone told me they ride rough, well my cart is a 95 and it has never been a cadillac, the ride really felt no different in my cart, but helped with the cart leaning too much. And Bling you make it sound so easy, I had to grind and drill the old bolts in my rear leafs. They were fused with the alum. on the cart brackets....small pain in the a$$ when you don't have the proper tools. LOL.
