Should I lift a 36 volt 1986 club car?

I've been told not to do it because the cart does not have enough power? I just want to drive it around a camp ground that's level. Has anyone done this and had any luck? I want to put a 6" lift kit on it. Can someone Please just say Yes do it or No don't do it?

It’s your cart do what you like, if the place is all flat land it won’t hurt it. Tire/wheel size will be the main cause that effect things not the lift.

Thank you for your answer! :-) I was planning to put 22-11-10 tires on it.

22s are reasonable but you will still feel some loss of power but, you should be ok on the flats

Hellboy, Mines pictured here, Its a 36V with 25" tires and it is a blast to drive, I even pull my jetski to the ramp and launch it easily, it will even climb the ramps into my F350 with no problems. SO put big tires on it and enjoy ! Mike

Got to agree with cat boat racer.

I have read here many times of people having issues installing lifts and tires on 36v carts.

I did mine and ran it for ~4 years on the 36V before I finally said it was time for 48v.. I actually saw about 2 MPH increase on flats with the 36v and bigger tires. It did cause it to slow on hills more. I even used mine for driving down to my boat and climbing back up to the house and it did fine..

But if you really want the bang for the buck, switch that sucker to 48v solid state and let it fly!!!

Go for it those 36 volt solenoid cars are pretty tough,I had a customer that had a teenager with one that ran through the salt marsh with his and it held up with no maintainence.It had really agressive tires and did ok.

I just put a BU 6" A arm lift with HD springs all around on my 1990 CC 36v resistor cart tonight. I took it for a quick spin and it performed well considering it needs some major alignment work. I put 22x11-10 Lawn Pros on it because we cruise the golf courses around here and I don't want to tear up the grass.
