Default Seat Repair for CC Precedent

Ok I posted this question a few days ago with no replies and I did a search and found one post about the same thing with no real help posted for replies but that means im not the only one with this issue. Im posting pics this time so ya'll can see what me and the other guy are talking about.

The problem is 2004 CC precedent seat foam separating from the base. The seat back and bottom are apparently glued to an ABS plastic base and the glue has and is separating so it needs to be re-glued. The question is what glue or fix should i try and has anyone had an experience with fixing this and how well did their fix work. I would love to recover the seat even though it doesn't need it but not even sure how i would do that with the way the foam and cover is secured to the base. (not the normal pull behind and staple to a wood back) but more than anything i would just like to get it fixed.

Well, I have to admit... I haven't seen that before!
But, I do have an adhesive suggestion,

"Shoe Goo" made by "Goop"
I'm sure you've seen it at most places, Automotive Goop, Plumbing Goop, etc. to name a couple.

I use "Shoe Goo" on every type of surface, I've bonded plasic to metal, fabric to plastic... all sorts of stuff!

It won't melt the plastic, or the foam!

It has a pretty strong smell, and it takes up to 24 hours to cure,
and it can be kind of messy the first couple of times using it, (just "roll it off" a couple of minutes after applying)
but, I bet that'll fix it!

There is a spray adhesive use in autos that is sold at most auto parts stores. You could try Pliobond I have used it on foam with no ill affects but once stuck together it doesn't move (like when the TOOL MAN Tim Taylor glued his head to a board).

This is a very common problem. About 90% of the used cars we receive are starting to separate around the base... The best thing to do is to replace the entire seats. I've not found anything yet that will get them to stick. You mentioned recovering, that would be fine. When we recover these seats we actually wrap the fabric all the way around the seat and staple it into the plastic behind the cushion. It's a nice clean look.

Although I haven't used it in this application, I have confidence in "Shoe Goo" and the "Goop" products,
BUT... if that was MY cart, last thing I want to do is spend upwards of $200.00 + for a new seat bottom,
or $100.00 + for a seat back, and have it separate again in 6 years!

I think $5.00 for a tube of Goop would be a good test for it,
Then, maybe bussted can chime back and let us know how well/long it worked for him.
maybe by then, he'll want to replace or recover his seats.

my 2 cents

Take it to a good Upholstery shop and get it recovered. 2 tone or something pretty cool. We usually charge around $225-275 at my upholstery shop. then you will have your problem fixed and a cool seat! IMHO

Why dont you just splurge and get some new seat cushions that are custom.
