re-setting the obc

I was having a problem with my 2005 CC DS. It is a Regen cart. In the process of finding the mcor was bad, a new obc was put in the cart. When that didn't solve the problem the old obc was put back on. The cart is running now. When I charge the batteries the state of charge meter shows in the high red. Also I can see where water boiled out of the batteries (some, not a lot). The cart never did this before. Charger is working perfectly and shuts off at some point during the night. No problems charging my 1997 CC. I was looking at the sticky for re-setting the obc. This guy was telling me with a "Q" cart you remove the positive cable not the negative cable????? Any help with why the cart is over charging and what cable to remove for re-setting would be appreciated.

This is the Procedure from my Precedent Manual:

TEST PROCEDURE 17 – REBOOTING THE ONBOARD COMPUTER
See General Warnings, Section 1, Page 1-1.
It is possible the onboard computer (OBC) can become “locked up”, causing the OBC solenoid lockout circuit
to malfunction. If this condition is suspected, restart the computer as follows:
1. Disconnect the battery cables as instructed. (I remove the Neg first, then the Pos.) See WARNING “To avoid unintentionally starting...” in General Warnings, Section 1, Page 1-1. See following NOTE.
NOTE: Wait at least 90 seconds for the capacitors in the speed controller to discharge. The capacitors in the speed controller must be fully discharged in order to reboot the OBC.
2. Place the Tow/Run switch in the TOW position and connect the battery cables, positive (+) cable first.
Tighten battery terminals to 110 in-lb (12.4 N·m) and coat terminals with Battery Terminal Protector Spray (CCI P/N 1014305) to minimize corrosion.
3. Place Tow/Run switch in the RUN position.
4. Test drive the vehicle. If the vehicle functions normally the problem is corrected. If the problem still exists, refer to Wiring Diagrams on page 11-2.

To determine IF the charger is 'over charging' we would need to know the pack voltage at the end of the charging cycle. Perhaps the batteries are over full and the old obc was not bringing the pack up high enough for them to overflow?

The batteries are new (2 months). The cart has the original obc in it. The new obc didn't fix the problem so the old one was reinstalled. I will check the pack this weekend. Give some more run time before I charge the cart. The water level in the batteries is how they came. I check them quite a bit and haven't to add water yet.
