Club Car Research
I hope to update you all as I take a stock 2001 CC DS 48v Series cart from stock to Who Knows! Right now UPS and USPS have in their possession my D&D ES-81 motor, HD Solenoid, HD F&R Switch, 2 awg cables throughout, and an Alltrax 650 amp controller. The D&D website claims I will get 23 +/- mph and a 70% increase in torque! I will soon decide on the lift and tires.
Any other suggestions or input? |

Re: Club Car Research
Sounds like a fun project let us know how you make out.You might want to think about putting on some disc brakes as the golf car shoe brakes arent gonna stop you.

Like the setup you are installing. Was that a package deal from them? Hope it all works out, you might want to do the brake upgrade as mentioned and also when you have it tore down inspect your frame for cracks in the welds . change the diff fluid while you are at it. check the pedal assembly mounting blocks too cause they are some kinda plastic and cheap enough and easy enough to replace.goodluck and you are addicted.

Re: Club Car Research
It was not a kit from D&D. This is one of the setups their motor/controller app recommends. The 2awg cables are a little overboard, but they did not cost much more than 4awg. I purchased the items from different places to get better deals.
I am tight with my money because I never know when the president is going to decide I am one of the rich people and someone else needs my money more than me. You know he has said "at some point you have made enough". I don't know how to tell when I reach that point, but I guess he will tell me. |

I know the feeling!! Sounds like you're building some serious competition for Ike... Ditto on Wilster's advice about checking the frame for cracks, give the tubular front crossmember a real close look.. I had a bunch of cracked welds repaired on Ike's frame before I started his build up.. |

Re: Club Car Research
Thank you all for the recommendations. Will do. I have a cart to ride during this process, so the only rush is to make sure my batteries aren't out too long.

Re: Club Car Research
Cables, Solenoid and F&R switch arrived Saturday. The motor and controller are do in on Thursday. 8" A-Arm lift with HD rear springs ordered today. 22" AT tires and ITP 10" wheels will be picked up locally today or tomorrow. Looks like I have my 3 day weekend pretty much full!
