Help with Lighting options 03 DS IQ
I need to start from scratch and add lights. Primarily Headlamps and Tails.
I probably need to go with a voltage reduces from 48V to 12 so thats probably a given to get that? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT I see some options for Precedents that us a light bar that seems like it would be applicable to the DS? Seem easier than trying to cut out the body to install recessed Bezels. Why would not a Precedent light bar work well for a DS? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CLUB-...ltDomainQ5f100 This years DS does not have the molded in places for lamps like I have seen on others so I am sort of resistance to just buying any sort of DS specific thing. I have seen these units on ebay that seem to be for those sorts of DS models that never had lamps but they still look like they may be difficult to get the area cut out to mount them into. See these links for the ones I am considering. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT Comments and recommendations welcome. Here is a picture of the body I would be installing them into. Note that there is no molded area delineating the cut out areas |

Re: Help with Lighting options 03 DS IQ
My cart came with the lights mounted in the body...which required cut-outs on the front and back. The kits have a template and, IMHO, provide a much cleaner appearance than the bolt-on type. A jig saw or one of those rotozip-type tools will cut a clean enough hole in which to mount the lights.
Currently I am running mine off of the two middle batteries until I purchase a voltage reducer. I've only blown the front lights once...when I turned them on while the batteries were charging. |

DS cars do not come with premolded light cutouts or anything of the sort. Every cowl you see has been cut with a rotary tool, either by the factory, a dealer, or an individual. Your cowl and body are no different. Get a dremel or a rotozip and follow the instructions and use the templates that come with the kit. It's extremely easy and it looks so much better than any bolt-on light kit available.
