Re: how to read charger?
Most chargers are automatic. What charger model? I can only vouch for a couple OBC controlled CC and 2 EZGO Marathons I have owned and they all take over 10 hours to fully charge, at the least.

Re: how to read charger?
Does charger say club car on it? There are many brands and types of chargers used out there and so it would help if you could confirm brand of charger. It sounds as if it is a club car charger and it may very well be working correctly? Had you checked distilled water levels in batterys before charging and needed to add lots of water? Did you check battery condition as this is a new cart to you either with a hydrometer with single float and temperature correcting scale on side or digital meter across each batterys posts. Note these tests should be done before charging OR after charging and letting sit for at least one hour to allow charge to level off.
A reading of 15 amps after charging for 3 hours is not uncommon IF batterys are low OR POSSIBLY IN BAD CONDITION and need replacing. DO ABOVE TESTS and then check stickies above for battery charge scale of voltage and specific gravity. Good luck and hope this will help you to start enjoying your cart. |

Re: how to read charger?
Average charge time is 5-6 hours. 12 is not uncommon for new or very old batteries. Let it finish
