Default 12V golf cart?

Did anybody make a 12V golf cart. My father in law insists that his old cart was 12V and I'm saying no way. Thanks for the info.

It could have had 12 volt batteries in it.

How long you been married? Let him win and drop the conversation

My answer would be that there was never a 12 volt golf cart, unless he was using a "Barbie" cart for kids...

First powered golf cart I ever saw was a no name brand that used 2-6 volt batterys that ran through a hand lever operated speed control with 2 contacts through a resistor and then another contact for high speed where both batterys mounted so to give 12 volts? The contacts were burned badly and we used a generator brush reshaped to fit opening in round can like controller. It was 3 wheels and simple round tubing frame without any body that used a WW2surplus motor of unknow brand or voltage. Seat was said to be out of a bomber was surplus as well?
The cart was supposedly from a military air base golf course for officers only and was owned by Army Aircorp retiring local officer? He also gave me some of the first synthetic I had ever seen that was used by military for P51 fighters.
This was about 1946-47 time frame when it came into the garage I was working part time after school etc.

I sort of remember the cart he is talking about. I think it was a Club Car and I know he had to replace the batteries and there were 4 or 6 of them. It's a lot newer than 1946-47. In fact it was a lot like the 86 I now have. had to have been a 36V
