My Dad has a 82 CC DS and the steering is all worn out I cant seem to find a rebuild kit so will a newer rack bolt up to his cart ? Does anyone have a new steering box for sale or even a decent older one ?

Re: upgrading to a rack and pinnion
Here is my deal...
You need: steering rack & pinion assembly. tie rod to rack adapter. Delta tower it mounts to, and the steering shaft. I think that covers it all. ... I have all of this from a 95 cart. I have put this all together for 2 different guys who didn't go thru with it... 1 last year and 1 this year.... it is $275 delivered. You will have to drill 2 of the 4 holes to mount the steering shaft mount. Everything else shopuld bolt up as far as we have figured? Hope this helps |

Re: upgrading to a rack and pinnion
OK thats fine, right now the steering column is kinda low twards the seat would you be able to tell me if this upgrade will change the angle of the steering column , that is whats driving this whole project after he saw my 2003 he realized that his was about 6 inches lower than mine so he took off the front and was trying to figure why his was lower ????? I told him its a great deal but he wanted me to ask , thanks for being so paitent and helpfull

Re: upgrading to a rack and pinnion
I have not actually done the Rack & Pinion conversion so I can not advise you on it. I have only talked about it with a few people. We have exchanged pics enough to know that we believe it is quite doable. I believe the cart frames are the same except for the # of holes. So some drilling will be required. I would think you would also need to remove the front cowl to do the install. Sorry I can not help more ...
