On Board Charger
I have an 01 CC DS Series 48v and I am looking for recommendations for an "on board charger". Does anyone know anything about the ones in the provided links?
http://www.evparts.com/products/golf...ers/ch5655.htm http://www.batterystuff.com/battery-...SON4812SR.html Are these something that would work or am I wasting money? There is nothing wrong with my regular charger I just thought this would be more convenient and better for the batteries from what I have read. How do these hook up? do you twist the wires together or are there plug kits or something? |

Re: On Board Charger
The EV charger #CH 5655 has advantage of being classed for "ON BOARD" operation but only charges a tops of 9 amps? If you are using cart under heavy loads or long distances it would be hard to bring back to full charge by morning?
The # SON4812SR doesnt show for "on board" use that I can find so could be dangerous when washing or off roading, but does have advantage of being able to use 230 volt input which would cut charging costs if you have proper outlet to plug into. Again the charge rate seems to be low 6 amps so how long is it going to take to recharge? I feel that as long as Club Car chargers work I will stay with them until OBC goes bad etc, as they do a very good job over cheaper timed units on aftermarket? |
