Default Another "IQ" question

I am going to look at a bunch of IQ carts this Thursday. 2005-2007 ds model.
The question is, would I be better off to put in an altrax 400 amp controler, and leave the stock motor in, or have the stock controler set to 19mph setting, and look at different motor later. I'm new to the IQ Regen type cart so any and all help greatly welcomed. The object is to get cart to street legal speed with min investment. [smile, half the world is looking for this]
Thanks ,

With just a motor change to Plum Quicks Purple motor and stock tires you should be going low 20's. With 22" tires you'll be doing over 25mph. That's all you need to do for a speed increase... no need to do a controller unless you want a FULL kick out of the gate... the top speed won't really increase with it.

In my opinion I wouldnt be looking at a IQ DS model at all? I know the later models dont seem to have the problems of earlier models "BUT"t hey are still relative new comers?? I would go for the SERIES carts.

I have a '03 series ds now. I am looking to pick up newer model to convert to street use. The DS I use in a campground all summer.
