Heavy Duty Solenoid ?
Whats the correct way to hook up the resistor and the diode on a White Rogers #586 series solenoid. Will the solenoid work if you dont hook them up the correct way?

Re: Heavy Duty Solenoid ?
Can the resistor be installed either way? The banded end of the doide is the silver strip? Which post is closer to the positive post, they are equally split across from one another and equaly dividing the two large posts?

Re: Heavy Duty Solenoid ?
The small posts are the activation circuit. One is gonna be Negative and one positive. It doesn't matter which small post is used for which polarity. It does matter that the banded or striped end of the diode is toward the positive of the 2 activation wires...... hope this clarifies?
