Don't know what else to do!

I am at my whits end! My cart started bouncing at high speeds after I changed to heavy duty leaf springs. I got rid of the original springs. I tried every combination from 4 leafs down to one leaf in the rear with no change. I have tried every tire pressure from 5 PSI to 60 PSI in my old tires. I bought brand new tires and rims with still no change. I just installed a passenger axle thinking I had a bent hub. Nope, still bouncing at high speeds. I am so pissed. I have spent $690 (tires/rims), $140 (leaf springs) $100 (axle/hub) and a lot of time taking apart and putting back together all for nothing! I dont know what else to do, I will be taking suggestions! Thanks all.

Pull the wheels off and haul them to a tire shop for balancing.. I had to balance the 6ply Duro Deserts on my EZGO gasser.. After the engine swap it would bounce ya out of the seat at anything over 20 MPH on smooth pavement.. After balancing, it's smoother than silk clear up to 40 MPH..

When they set up the machine for balancing, have them do a "static" balance.. These small tires are hard to do a "dynamic" balance on.. I had one tire that required 2.5 oz. of lead on the back of the rim to balance it out..

You must have replaced the springs after installing a rear seat which had caused you cart tires to rub CORRECT? At spring replacement time did you ALSO put your lift kit in or was that already there BEFORE adding seat? Some times a combination of changes cause wierd things to happen? Some times when putting in lift kits ( shocks ) are mounted in such a way as to bottom them out ( retracted rather than in center of travel ) so there is no flex ( like adding a block of wood between frame and springs )
Question was the cart NOT BOUNCING AT ALL BEFORE NEW SPRINGS and did all this bounce START ONLY after installing new HD springs AND BEFORE replacing all the other ( tires and wheels )? At the time of replacing springs did you put all new urathane bushings and in the case of a gas cart new steel bushing at each end of spring and at frame mount above shackle? I have seen where through spring bolts were so tight after installation that the shackles couldnt flex and caused very harsh no spring bouncing with slightest flaw in road.
If you are in doubt I first back off through spring bolts some and if that doesnt do it then I would unhook one end of each of your shocks and see if that makes a difference, but most likely its spring mounts causing your problem as the problem remains even after removing spring leafs down to only one each?
I see by your avatar that you have lugged tires that can cause lots of bounce even on soft soil or sand? Many times new tires and wheels are not round until heating up a few times that could only make your problem worse, and yes they can be almost square in the case of after market parts and yes as CC John says have them balanced.

Have you determined that it is the rear that is bouncing or is it the front, or both. Is the steering wheel moving left/right when it is bouncing? If so, check the front alignment, you may need to adjust your toe-in.
Jack up the rear and press the go-pedal and see if you can duplicate the vibration with no-load.

Be careful when running elec. CC while on jacks. Use just quick short spin or you might have a lot of scrap iron to pick up off the floor. High & long rev with no load can screw up the whole day!!

Thanks for the tips guys. I greased the leaf bushings and did not crank down the bolts. The first thing I will do next is get the tires balanced. If that does not work, I will replace the shocks. When I run the cart on stands, the wobble comes from the right rear, hence the hub/axle replacement I did last weekend. I even have tried every tire (new and old ones) on the right rear with the same results. I will continue trying everything you guys write until it runs smooth again. I forgot to add, I only got the wobble after installing new HD leafs, everything else I did was to try to get rid of the wobble!

From what you have said I think its time to step back and review what you have done and seek the answer to your problem? As you are fighting a bad wobble in the right rear and you have replaced it with another axle, was it a new axle or a used one? A used axle can have same problem and in the case of some after market axles the quality can be rather poor? Depending on Differential in your cart it will have either a pressed on axle bearing or one mounted in axle housing. In the case of a new axle did you replace the "outer bearing" as it could be bad allowing wobble? If you are ever in doubt about an axle do a test for straightness. If you dont have a lathe available I would take a length of 2"X4" board with 2 uprights at 90 degree with sharpened lag type bolts through each end to allow bolt to move in and out, Then mount axle as you have 2 center holes one on each end of axle that were used to manufacture axle in first place and see if you have a true axle. While doing this also see if wheel studs are straight and drilled properly.
Its bad enough to fight crooked wheels and tires without having to have axle jumping up and down when rotating.

Nope. I just havent had time to get my wheels and tires balanced yet. I tried to replace my rear shocks, but the stock club car shocks are way to short. Who ever lifted my cart must have put car shocks in the rear. (Which could be the problem) Either way, the cart still bounces. Hopefully I will get some time soon to take all 4 tires to get balanced.
