Default Factory voltage reducer?

I have and 03 club car 48v, it has a factory light kit on it, I was wondering if there is a voltage reducer installed with the factory kit or are the lights 48v. Thanks for the info.

If you look behind the center batteries on the Drivers side, tucked into the framerail should be a thin silver "box". that would be the factory 16v-12v reducer.

There is no silver box in the location described might it possibly be located somewhere else, or did club car make a 48v light kit.

I've never heard of a 48 volt light kit on a club car. Tahoe might know different than I do, but as far as I am aware, most all Club Car's that have a factory light kit on them are run through a 16v-12v reducer.

Easy way to check is to pull a lightbulb from the headlight and see what the voltage on it is. It should be stamped on the base of the bulb somewhere.

I have a 95CC DS 48 volt not sure if the 03 CC has the Reducer in the same place. Here is the Voltage Reducer tucked inside the drivers side frame behind batteries. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the pic PhilJ I went out and looked again thinking maybe I was crazy and just didn't see it the first time. No silver box anywhere on the frame. Pull the talilight cover off and checked voltage on the bulb, 12v bulb so there has to be a voltage reducer somewhere just can't find it. I think it is time to call the club car superhero in Tahoedawg where are you.

OK, do you possibly have a set of wires tied to one of your batts?

yeah there is a set of wires from the two batteries directly under the drivers side seat. The positive wire has a 15A inline fuse block on it. Both wires are go into a wire management tube that runs to the dash area and to the rear lights. Is it possible that the voltage reducer is behind the dash somewhere. Thanks for all the help.

Can you provide a pic, it sounds like your lights could be just tapped off of two batties (wait do you have 8V batts or 12V batts?) and that how they are working

on an 03 DS he has 8 Volt Batts (unless the cart has been modified).

Sounds to me like it is an aftermarket light kit, not a Factory kit and they tapped off 2 batteries for power.
