Re: J P
1st thing is they are new batteries you,ll need to break them in which is going to take 12 to 15 complete charge cycles......when you plug cart into charger leave it that way until charger shuts off by itself, after break in is done charge batts, up.............and run cart 30 seconds to disapate surface charge and then take voltage readings from each battery..............write voltage #s down and post them..........new batts are only 75 to 80% and breaking them is important to get them to 100%, you,ll also then notice longer runtime and more speed.......but lets start with posting those #,s after breaking them in....................remember onve on the charger you must let if finish..............

Re: J P
SHADOWMAN is very correct about new battery charging as its so very important to do a correct break in as shown in STICKIES ABOVE. So many people will install new batterys and jump right in and drive cart to see how much faster it will go over old batterys and this is one of the worst things you can do? Regardless of being new batterys all have some shelf time so to get batterys off to good start charge them until charger turns itself off. The batterys may smell and gurgle but dont unplug until charger turns itself off. If you dont have a digital meter get a cheap one from places like Harbor Freight as you will need one.
It may possibly be that you have either lost codes on controller or speed sensor on motor is bad and this causes controller to go to a "LIMP HOME TYPE MOD" but wait until batterys are up to more full power before doing anything else. |

Re: J P
Agreed, it sounds like a bad throttle input device as well.... surging is not good. Batteries are a big investment, how you break them in will determine their useful life

Re: J P
7-8MPH huh? Try rolling the cart by hand and see if the motor tries to stop the car from rolling. This will be accompanied by a "Beep Beep Beep' from the reverse buzzer. If it rolls freely and does not beep you've got a bad speed sensor on the motor and it must be replaced. I usually change about 3 or 4 of these a week. Common problem.

Re: J P
When you say roll the cart by hand, should it be in the run or tow mode, i assume in the run mode? Still working on the battery break in thing. Will try rolling it by hand to see what will happen. Will take about another week to get the batteries broken using the suggested methods. Thanks, will post results asap.
