No Power in Reverse

I have a 89 "A" model which has very little to no power in reverse. Goes forward just fine. Yep, I know, don't back up. <bg>
Any other suggestions as to what may be causing this?

bad batteries.

Seriously, the reverse is probably hooked to the drivers side middle battery. Move the green 6 gauge wire to the posirive terminal on the Passenger side middle battery and you will go faster in reverse.
