Default slow speed

I cant figure out why club car is so slow. I have charged batteries up and driven for over 6 weeks. It will charge up and then when we go to drive its just slow! I took it in to service place and they hooked up computer and told me it was a speed setting. The tech adjusted speed setting and i was on my way. It hasnt made a difference. Im still rolling at 9mph. Other carts in my neighborhood are passing me like im sitting still. Btw, the batteries i have are new. Im not looking to set any land speed records but when old ladies walking their dogs are out running me I cant stand it.

sounds like a bad speed sensor. I am amazed the tech that plugged into it didn't test drive the cart before sending you on your way.

What is the year and type of cart you have??? The newer carts need to have the three wire plug coming from the motor plugged in, (speed sensor wires,) or else it will default to 8 mph. Some of the older ones can have that plug removed and the cart will run fine... so what year is yours?

I'm not sure what year(s) are the ones that can have the speed sensor plug unplugged but I believe your's might be in that range. Have you tried to unplug it to see what happens? After all it can't get any slower then the 8mph setting or default. This would only help if your setting was still at 8mph and never changed by the tech. I also agree with rabbitreborn... how could a service tech change the setting and not check his results!!!!

To answer your question as to why Tech didnt really check out cart. I beleive its because they r upset i didnt buy batteries from them. They wanted 960 bucks for the batteries and i found them for half the price at Sams. I took it in and he just kinda looked at me with frown. Anyway, i tried to unplug speed sensor and it went at same speed for a hundred yards or so then stopped. I plugged back in and it took off. Im really perplexed and I am beginning to wonder why I even have this darn thing. This cart seems to be just a big pain in my butt. How can something so simple be so **** difficult?

the reason they frown when they see sams batts is because if you don,t keep on top of them and i mean on top of them they just arn,t worth it, please don,t take this personal but i see people having to replace their sams batts every season because of lack of maintence when with the big T,s and less maintence they will last 4 times as long so how much did you really save.........................you can work with the t,s when they are run down which is almost impossable with a sams batt................................

We bought the batt. at Walmart, they were labeled "Interstate"which are generally good batt. But who knows these days. Could'nt afford 960 bucks to see if there was other prob. with the car. Still trying to figger it out. Will post the V reading across each batt and across the pack to see what a'll think. What are the 2 relays in this system? The REGEN from what I gather slows the cart in downhill situations and the other relay does what? Could the REGEN relay be stuck only allowing slow speed?
