03 Regen runs slow uphill
I bought a 48 volt 2003 regen carryall as a project. I replaced the batteries, silenoid, and brakes. The batteries have a full charge and it runs good downhill. Going uphill however it seems to not have much power. Reverse is faster than the cart is uphill. This is my first cart, but I do have considerable electrical experience. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: 03 Regen runs slow uphill
start with the basics, check your battery voltage after a charge check water levels, for sure load test each battery, cables you want connections very clean and tight.....this does if fact make a noticable difference if your unsure of cables buy yourself a good set of cables......you get a set of cables for under 10 bucks but you get what you pay for......so get some good ones you won,t regret it..............you may find thats all you have to do............. and again you can post battery voltage#,s here and after load testing them and we can figure out if batts or a bad one ( i think load testing is a must ) i have seen so many carts fail like this for a simple lack of battery and cable maintence................post what you come up with..........................

Ok my battery voltages under load are 8.7, 8.6, 8.5, 8.5, 8.6, 8.8. Total of 52.1. Thanks. Cables on batteries look new as well.

Re: 03 Regen runs slow uphill
are the ends clean and tight? i,m not sure how slow slow is for you going uphill but the nature of the elec. cart is its going to slow down going up inclines and even slight hills......was it like this before the new batts? and did you break them in right............................................. .

Re: 03 Regen runs slow uphill
Cable ends are clean and tight. Cart runs slow especially uphill even compared to other electric carts. I bought this cart as a project. It wasn't running when I bought it for $400. We have only ran it less than 10 times and each time for less than 10 minutes each after which it goes right back on the charger.

Re: 03 Regen runs slow uphill
Tested the speed switch like the instructions I found in another post and it tested fine. Just to make sure, I disconnected it and drove the cart. It still didn't go any faster. Thinkin now it could be in the MCOR. Also question would be if it is possible that blue and orange wires are reversed on controller if this would cause this.
