2000CC Fwd No Go Rev OK

2000 CC DS 48 Batteries Charged & Tight Connections
Fwd. stopped working, reverse ok. Replaced F&R switch which was a little burnt at one connection,solenoid clicks,power from controller, replaced motor,
moves fwd slightly and will run normally if I get some momentum, same as old motor. Could use advice before buying controller.

Not a regen. I'm wondering if the limit switch on the pot could allow rev. go, fwd. no go? It's my understanding that a limit switch is either on or off. Still stumped.
